Testing Classmax on Moodle
Classmax works on Blackboard and Canvas. It has never been tested on Moodle, so it might work or it might do nothing at all. That is what you are finding out. If it breaks, that is a result and not a wasted evening.
What to do
- 1 Sign up on a laptop, in Chrome. Not your phone, and not Safari or Firefox yet.
- 2 Follow the setup. It installs the extension for you, takes about two minutes, and never asks for your university password.
- 3 Open Moodle and run the sync.
- 4 Use it for ten minutes. Check whether your real deadlines are there and whether the AI knows anything useful about your modules.
If it breaks
Classmax prints what it is doing to Chrome's console, and those lines are the whole diagnosis.
-
On your Moodle tab press
Cmd + Option + J(Mac) orCtrl + Shift + J(Windows). Leave the panel open on the Console tab. - Start a screen recording. Cmd + Shift + 5 on Mac, Win + Alt + R on Windows.
- Run the sync again and let it finish.
-
Scroll slowly through the lines starting
[Classmax][moodle]. The last one says SYNC SUMMARY. - Send it to brennan@classmax.ai. No editing needed. A photo of the console works, or just the SYNC SUMMARY line.
Worth knowing first
It reads your real coursework and stores it on a server. The privacy policy names every company your data reaches. It never sees your university password: the extension reads Moodle using the session already in your browser. What it works with lists everything it can and cannot do today.
